HOW TO BECOME AN OFFICIAL “SUPPORTER” OF COHEARENTVISION
coHearentVision encourages individuals to become an official “Supporter” in order that people can more closely identify with our Mission, Vision and Values. Such membership enables people to take a closer, positive interest in our activities and become involved where they have appropriate skills, expertise and resources for the benefit of people with a significant sight or hearing loss.
You can become a charitable supporter of coHearentVision (the working name of Leeds Society for Deaf and Blind People), by paying an annual subscription of £10.00 (cheques endorsed with your name/address on the reverse and made payable to “Leeds Society for Deaf and Blind People” or “LSDBP”). Alternatively, payment can be made in cash at our offices (Centenary House, 59 North Street, Leeds LS2 8JS).
Any payment queries should be addressed to:
Alison Miller (Finance & HR Manager)
Tel: 0113 243 8328
Email: alison.miller@cohearentvision.org.uk
Payments may be made at any time but the “membership year” commences on 1 April annually. This payment entitles the Supporter to attend any such meeting as the Board of Trustee’s and/or the Chief Executive specifically arrange for the general purpose of updating and informing “Supporters” of the organizations activities.
Membership as a “Supporter” does not confer any ‘voting rights’ or entitle such “Supporters” to automatically attend any other meeting of the Board of the Trustee’s and/or an Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the organization (unless specifically invited to do so).
“Supporters” will also receive priority invitations to any fund raising and social events that are arranged by and/or involve coHearentVision.
The Board of Trustee’s reserves the right not to grant “Supporter” status to any individual where it is felt that such membership would be detrimental to the good name and operation of the charity and/or, the motives of the individual applying are not felt to be inline with the ethos of coHearentVision.
In accordance with the Memorandum and Articles of Association of The Leeds Society for Deaf and Blind People (working name: “coHearentVision”) dated 18 April 2012, it should be noted that (as detailed in paragraph 2.1 of the Articles of Association) quote: “The only Members of the Company (i.e. The Leeds Society for Deaf and Blind People) shall be the Directors of the Company”.
