Type size and colour contrast
If you are partially sighted, you may wish to increase the type size or change the contrast of the website. You can do this from your browser’s menu – in Internet Explorer, go to the View menu and choose Text Size, then select Larger or Largest from the flyout menu; in Firefox, go to the View menu and choose Text Size, then choose Increase, Decrease or Normal from the flyout menu.
Alternatively, you can select a larger text or high contrast version of the site near the top of each page. To revert back to the default text size and colour scheme, you can click “standard” and your settings will be saved.
Using screen-reader programs
Most screen-reader programs should have no trouble with these pages. However, should you find there is a problem, here are a few tips that may help:
- This website is optimised to a screen resolution of 1024 x 768 or higher.
- Always maximise all your windows.
- As far as possible, we have kept the links to a single line. However, at a low screen resolution, some links may wrap to two lines. If a link doesn’t seem to make sense, this is probably the reason. if you are using Dolphin’s screen readers, you can use Dolphin Link Navigator to overcome this problem. If you are using Jaws, adjust its settings where necessary.
For those of you who use large-screen software, simply set your screen factors to your normal settings and follow the links through.
BSL videos
At this time, the website does not offer BSL signed video translation of pages. However, this is something we are working on to improve the user experience and pages will be updated as soon as possible with a clearly labeled BSL translation.
Sound
This website does not use sound.
