coHearentVision is offering training on different aspects of sensory impairment – that’s having a hearing or sight loss, or both. The different training courses cover topics such as the challenges of being deaf, hard of hearing, visually impaired or deafblind and how people can communicate with people with these disabilities, to learning British Sign Language (BSL) and useful tools to aid communication.
These training sessions are available to anyone who would like to find out more about sensory impairment.
Thanks to our long history of working with sensory impaired people, we can provide awareness training which can range from a general overview of sensory impairment to a more focused approach on specific areas, such as deafness, Deaf culture and British Sign Language or specialised communication methods used by Deafblind people. The trainers themselves have a sensory loss in the area they teach, for example a deafblind tutor for Deafblind Awareness Training and so on.
