On Wednesday 17th January 2011, a group of 11 people went to London for 2 nights, going by train from Leeds to London, King Cross. It was a new experience for many of the customers as they used the London Transport system especially the tube and the London Tour Bus.

They stayed at the Royal National hotel near Russell Square. During their stay, they went to the theatre to watch “The Lion King” All the customers thoroughly enjoyed the performance even though they were sat very high up in the upper circle, (most overcame their fear of heights!!)

The next day, they visited the science museum; there weren’t enough hours in the day to visit all the exhibitions in the museum. One of the exhibitions included what astronauts do while in space. Another exhibition included everyday household equipment past to present, some of which had been cut in half to see what they look like inside – e.g. a mini car, washing machine and sewing machine.  Most of the customers had a go on the computer to find out more about the body and how it functions

On their sight seeing day they saw Big Ben and the London Eye; even managing to fit in some shopping at the famous “Oxford Street” finally they ended the evening at a Chinese Restaurant which the customers had chosen.

They have many amusing stories to tell about the trip for example – not naming who! – Locking themselves out of the hotel room and getting stuck in the hotel lift – do ask the customers – (I am sure they will be delighted to tell you all about it!)
